Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Benders Beach Bungalow: New Construction, Golf Views, Elevator, Community Pool and Tennis Courts has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
