Sunrise Sunset Rental Review: John B., Washington DC

Beach House Rental Jackpot
The proximity to the ocean and beach access make Sunrise Sunset the ideal beach home rental. Our family has visited the OBX for 15 years and this home is at the top of our list. The kitchen, dining room, and wrap-around deck have a breath-taking view of the ocean. The kitchen is equipped with two fridges, has plenty of counter workspace to prepare meals for multiple families, and is completely supplied with cookware and silverware. After spending time at the beach and out and about, our kids appreciated hanging out in the loft. They setup their Xbox, played games and crashed for the nighttime in the loft. The location offers fast access to great eateries (Benny Tesoro's, The Dunes), ice cream parlor (Costal Creamery), and beach activities (Jennette's Pier, NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island). We will be back to stay at Sunrise Sunset!

Getting the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Nags Head restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best rental home in the Nags Head area:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. K1056 Sunrise Sunset. 5 bedroom, Pet friendly, Wraparound Ocean View Decks! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
