Discover JB by the Sea, our striking Nags Head Cottage located in the heart of OBX. Recently refreshed and attractively decorated, this beach haven promises a ideal hideaway equipped with a pool, hot tub, and tiki bar. It is only .2 miles to get to the beach and attractively located near trendy eateries, coffee stores, ice cream, and an abundance of activities. Our bungalow is located on a cul-de-sac with no through traffic and in a very walkable / bikeable area with ample sidewalks & side streets.

-4 bedrooms (2 King, 1 Queen, and 1 bunk room with 2 sets of twin bunk beds).
-All 4 bedrooms are sizable enough to fit a pack and play, with 2 of the bedrooms having separate closets enormous enough to fit a pack and play in it.
-3 full bathrooms with a shower and tub.
-Roomy game room with pull out couch and kitchenette.
-Freshly modernized kitchen with open concept layout to the dining area and living room.
-Inviting outdoor area with a pool, hot tub, tiki bar, outdoor shower, and outdoor bathroom.

You will appreciate our neighborhood! A peaceful cul-de-sac with no through traffic but located in
the heart of Nags Head close to the beach and fashionable eateries, coffee stores, ice
cream and an abundance of activities.

.2 miles to the E Bladen St. beach access, which is a fast and simple walk along a
peaceful street / sidewalk (NO walking along the main highways!). This access also
offers paved beach parking, porta-potties, outdoor showers, sand access,
wooden walkways, and pet waste bags.

.4 miles to Dowdy Park, a must-visit spot in OBX with broad green space,
huge playground area, pickleball and basketball courts, picnic shelters, and
Farmers Markets and other activities throughout the summer.

1 mile to Jockey’s Ridge State Park (The Dunes), which is the tallest living sand
dunes on the East Coast, offering beautiful vistas (especially at sunset) and
hiking.

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Nags Head attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
