How to book the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Nags Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 8 person beach box in the heart of Nags Head has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
