How to book the best Nags Head rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Nags Head. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best rental home in the Nags Head area:

  • First, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Nags Head has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
