About this Property

  • 6 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2950 square feet

We purchased Lind Sue in April of 2016. We refreshed and refreshed the home and created a back yard outdoor space that would provide an area where families could gather and appreciate each other's company. With 5 kids and 11 grandchildren it was important to us. We continue to add and update as the years roll by. Little things that may go unnoticed but make a difference. In 2019 we added 2 double hammock swings in the shade of the live oaks just behind the fire pit. In 2020 we added 10 Polly Resin rockers to replace the wood ones which never seem to last in the environment. In 2023 we added a hammock bench swing to the rear yard and individual hammock swings in the carport area. We continue to invest in the outdoor environment. Coming soon will be a masonry BBQ Charcoal Grille. We have replaced 6 or 7 standard metal propane grilles. They just don't last and realistically, propane just isn't BBQ. Homes with outdoor space like this are rare in the OBX.

Our Linda Sue has 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths. One bedroom on the entrance level, three on the mid-level and one on the third floor. All bedrooms have a private baths, flat screen TVs and direct access to an outside deck. There are two additional TVs in the living areas on the entrance level and upper level. The entrance level bedroom has a pyramid bunk. The three mid-level bedrooms have Queens and the upper level bedroom is a King. There is a queen sleeper couch in the main living area. We also provide an outside lift so bringing bags or supplies up or down is not a hassle.

We try to provide everything you need to savor your stay at the outer banks. The décor in general tells you that you are at the beach. We continually update features to keep it as good as it can be. We really want you to feel at home while you enjoy your vacation.

It's a short walk to the beach and Nags Head Fishing Pier. Shopping is right around the corner. Good eateries north or south. Fine or casual dining. Water sports and fishing in the ocean or sound. Unwind in the Hot Tub or pool. Golf is near by. If you are really adventurous you can try hand gliding on Jockey's ridge or just visit the Wright Brother's memorial. There is also plenty of nightlife near by. Everything you need to enjoy yourself and your family on your vacation.

In March of 2023 we purchased a Florida Keys waterfront property in the Venture Out community on Cudjoe Key. https://ventureoutcondo.com/ Just 20 miles from Key West. 65' of Seawall, and a short boat ride to the Gulf or the Atlantic. Plenty of amenities and sunshine. We are working on offering fishing and boat excursions right from the deck. Hopefully 2026. Vacation Rental By Owner listing 3292691.

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Nags Head area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
