Why we chose South Nags Head: Our family has been coming to the outer banks for many years and South Nags Head is our favorite location. We adore it so much for it’s peaceful beaches and convenience. Many years we have watched turtles hatch and make their journey to the ocean. We married on the beach here in South Nags Head and thought it was only fitting that we buy a special place of our own. We hope that you fall in appreciate with it, as we did, and make many happy memories with your family. Traveling with extended family? Our other property at 8524 S. Old Oregon Inlet Rd. Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Nags Head area. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Nags Head rental home:
- To start, have your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Amazing! Summer Shanty -ocean view, pool, hot tub, steps to beach, quiet street has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Nags Head destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
