Welcome to Wine Down at Sand Castle Village by KEES Vacations

A calming setting overlooking the 12th green at the Nags Head Golf Links. Luxurious amenities like private pools and dedicated recreation rooms. Over 2300 square feet over three floors. These are just a few things you will savor when you stay at Sandcastle Village at the Village at Nags Head.

The third level great room is painted in cool neutral gray with a few pops of coastal blues and greens with black accent pieces. It's a dramatic look that will capture your imagination. Tall ceilings provide an open and airy feel to the generous great room. The living area features a couch with a constructed-in chaise and two wonderfully eclectic chairs, and the Pack n' Play included in the property mean that visitors of any age can relax in style! These items center around the flat-screen TV with cable, which invites the group to sit down together for a favorite TV show or movie. Or perhaps just a lively conversation. There are new memories to be made!

Sliding glass doors off the living area lead to a comfortable balcony with comfortable Adirondack chairs and a modest table. It's a splendid spot to savor your morning coffee as the cool breeze washes over you and you watch the Outer Banks wake up to another glorious day.

All the chefs in the group will be competing to claim the striking kitchen! Plentiful dark wood cabinets, granite counter-tops and a humongous center island with seating for 3 with recessed and dramatic pendant lighting make this every chef's fantasy. So, hey, let the chefs compete and the rest of you can be the judges - it's a win-win for everybody!

The family can appreciate those culinary masterpieces together as a group at the huge wood dining table, with cozy padded seating for 10. Another entrance to the private balcony is just through convenient sliding doors. Leave them open for an al fresco dining experience. A generous King En Suite completes this level. You will adore the spa-like En Suite bathroom, with white subway tile shower and double vanities.

There is more fun to be had on each floor of this cavernous 5-bedroom Outer Banks vacation property! This second level features a recreation room with both a pool table and shuffleboard table. Hours of friendly competition and a few adult beverages will surely happen here. Another deck with two Adirondack chairs also graces this floor. Appreciate that sultry evening Outer Banks air in between games of pool. Two King En Suites on this level (one convertible to two twins) offer phenomenal privacy.

The first level of your Sand Castle Village vacation home offers even more fun and excitement with a comfortable den. Don't be surprised if the kids in the group lay claim to this space! A mini-kitchen with full-refrigerator is the ideal spot for all their drinks and snacks. Watch them get comfortable on the couch with a constructed-in chaise lounge and hook up their game consoles (not supplied with rental) on the TV. The older kids may even post a few vacation pics to make their friends back home jealous. They can even claim the bedrooms on this level. One has two sets of bunk beds and the other features two double beds. These two bedrooms share a full hall bath. The best part of this ground floor? Its closest to the POOL!

That's right! A private 12x25 inground pool is yours with this vacation rental! Work on your tan on one of the cozy sun loungers. What better way is there to enjoy your Outer Banks vacation than floating around in the cool, exhilarating water of your own inground pool and soaking up the rays? We can't think of one! If you simply must dip your toes in the Outer Banks sand, the beach is just .6 miles away.

Finding the best rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Nags Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Nags Head area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. • If there's an individual Nags Head beach you crave, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

The Cotton Gin has stood in the same location since 1929, starting as a working cotton gin and growing to a gift store with 4 locations. Visitors are treated to a unique shopping experience in our main store in Jarvisburg, as well as our beach stores in Corolla, Duck, and Nags Head. Explore room after room filled with décor for your home and coastal fashions for both men and women. Discover the brands you really want, like, Vera Bradley, Vineyard Vines, La Mer Luex, Simply Southern, Lindsay Phillips, Scout, Pandora, Kameleon, Brighton, Spartina, Tommy Bahama, Southern Tide and Salt Life and Old Guys Rule - all under one roof!

Don’t forget the gourmet market, or shop our beautiful linens for your bedroom and bath. We also feature coastal books and fine art, or just a whimsical fun gift to bring home to family and friends. Stop by soon and don’t forget to try our estate grown wines in our stores or visit our vineyard and winery, Sanctuary Vineyards, located adjacent to the original Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
