Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Nags Head vacation property experience:

When to book a Nags Head rental home & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Nags Head area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Shore'em Dreamin': Hot Tub, Community pool, Close to Beach, Pet-friendly has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
