Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Nags Head. Booking your Nags Head vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Sunwatch: Soundfront, Hot Tub, Private Boat Dock and Community Pool Access has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
