Tricks and tips to get the very best Nags Head vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Nags Head area. To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect rental in the Nags Head area:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Steps away from the beach and Nags Head attractions! has 5 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head destination you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
