How to book the best Nags Head vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Nags Head area:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanside, Close to beach, Sunroom, Carport, SNH351, Sea Sharp has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
