How to book the best vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pet-friendly semi-oceanfront home in Nags Head w\/ private pool & hot tub has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Nags Head destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
