Booking the best Nags Head vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 6 bedroom, classic old nags head style oceanfront with a hot tub! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Nags Head attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
