Our top Rental home booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Nags Head. Reserve your Nags Head rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. NagsOceanCottage w\/Hot Tub Sleeps 8 Pet Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
