How to get the best vacation rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Nags Head attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental in the Nags Head area:

  • First, have your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Haven Of Rest: Private saltwater pool and hot tub, game room, short drive to the has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
