Strategies to get the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Summertime is high season in Nags Head. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the perfect Nags Head rental home:

  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
