Tips and Tricks to get the very best Nags Head rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful Home with a Hot Tub and Community Pool in season has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Nags Head attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
