Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best vacation home in Nags Head:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Coastal Dune 4: Pet-Friendly, Cottage on the Beach in Nags Head has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
