Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to book a Nags Head rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Booking your Nags Head vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Close to Everything & Only 5 Minute Walk to the Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
