Getting the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Nags Head. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Old Nags Head style with wrap around porch! Soundside Rd in Nags Head! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
