How to find the best Nags Head vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Nags Head attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Carolina Cottage-Cozy family friendly cottage in the Outer Banks-no cleaning fee has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Nags Head beach you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
