Getting the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • To get the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Ripple Effect - One of a Kind ! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
