Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking the right Nags Head rental home:

  • Start by having your family choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. The Ripple Effect-Brand New & 360 Degree Views! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
