Booking the best Nags Head rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in the Nags Head area. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Serenity Now: Dog-Friendly Home in Golf Course Community w\/ Water Views has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
