Getting the best Nags Head vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. Reserve your Nags Head vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- First and foremost, have your group select dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Fireflies: Semi-oceanfront, private pool, hot tub, rec room with pool table, easy beach access has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
