Strategies for getting the perfect Nags Head vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Nags Head. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental in the Nags Head area:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Semi-Oceanfront Home with a Large Pool Area, Cabana, and Rec Room! has 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
