Always Included, complimentary linens and made beds! Imagine your cares slipping away while you sway in a rocking chair appreciating the ocean's breeze on the ocean facing wraparound porch! Constructed in 1933 by S.J. Twine, this estate will give you a sense of how things used to be on the OBX while offering the best amenities. The main home retains all the historical features for which the old Nags Head cottages have become famed; the unpainted wood cedar shakes, the lean out porch benches and the propped shutter windows - to name a few, all designed to enhance function over form. Recent updates include a gourmet kitchen, master bath and walk-in master closet. For the young at heart, the garage area features a vintage, classic Foosball table.

Booking the best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Nags Head rental:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Nags Head
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
