Tips to get the very best Nags Head vacation rental experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Finding the best vacation home in Nags Head:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. K0113 An American Dream. Oceanfront; Private Pool; Hot Tub; Pets OK! has 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
