Tricks and tips to get the perfect Nags Head rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Semi-oceanfront with private pool, hot tub, & beautiful views! South Nags Head. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
