' PILOT HOME
Location, Location, Location. Close to the beach and accesses (1 block) with vistas of the Ocean from the living area and screened dining area and deck. Free sunrises every day. All the benefits of semi-oceanfront without the traffic. Arrive, park, and savor. Food Lion, 24 hr Harris Teeter, coffee stores, eateries, surf stores, galleries, and fishing pier are all within 1/2 mile.
Pool gets the sun all afternoon. Upper deck is shaded in the late afternoon. This stretch of beach has a natural shore break that is great for surfing, body boarding and body surfing.

Family groups only; no college or high school groups, minimum age for renting is 25. Parents must be on site if on the Rental Agreement.

Newer reverse floor plan design.

Top level has a king bed, full bathroom, living area, dining area, kitchen, hard wood floors, screened in dining area, and deck area.

Middle level has a Queen Master bedroom with private bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, additional queen bedroom with shared full bathroom, a 3rd bedroom with a twin over full bunkbed, outside entrance, and sizable deck area with Hot Tub.

First level has an entrance through the carport area. There is a game room area with two twin beds, TV, and 6 ft. Pool Table. There is a full-size laundry room with W/D, half bath, and a 2nd full size Fridge/Freezer. Outside there is the gated Pool area, enclosed outside shower, basketball goal, and fish cleaning table.

My kitchen may not have granite counter tops, but it is very well equipped. Some folks don't care to go out to dinner every nighttime, so there is a great set of top of the line pots and baking pans to accommodate your crowd for cooking in. In addition, there is a crock pot, electric griddle, hand mixer, steamer pot, and a heavy-duty blender. There is a Weber Genesis gas grille in the carport area for grilling out.

All bedrooms, Game Room, and Top Floor Living Area have a Intelligent TV and a Blu-Ray DVD Player

Bath towels and Linens included with beds made,

Floor plan accepts a for lot of activity without everybody tripping over each other. When my kids bring guests the pool, game room, and hot tub tend to keep them downstairs while my friends and I can appreciate some quieter time on the upper level.

No better place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon beverage than the upper deck.

Beach cart, 8 Tommy Bahama style beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and 4 beach towels supplied.

We do allow family pets on a limited basis. No cats or puppies. Well trained dogs only. Pet fee is per dog. Limit of two dogs. Occasional exceptions with permission.
Smoking is allowed outside only, and these rules have kept the home pet and smoke odor complimentary.

I do not book more than a year in advance. I block the following summer so I can offer this years' renters first refusal on next year. Please check back in December for open dates.

Please note I also require a separate Rental Agreement between you and me, as Vacation Rental By Owner only provides me a name, phone number and an e-mail address. The Agreement just provides me a little more information, and assurance that you have are aware of the limitations I have mentioned in the listing. This is my second home you are renting, and I work hard to provide you a great hideaway. I am not comfortable renting to someone I won't have a chance to talk to at least once on the phone, so if you are looking for a no-contact rental this not your best choice.

If you have to cancel, I will try to work with you as described in my Rental Agreement. If I can rent the week again, I will refund you per the Rental Agreement.

I am also available to answer any questions that come up during your stay if you are not familiar with Nags Head. I want you to have a great vacation!

Nags Head rental home tips:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Nags Head area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best vacation home in the Nags Head area:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 'Pilot House', Ocean Views, Ez Access to Beach, Pool & Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
