Nags Head rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best vacation rental in the Nags Head area:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
