How to find the best Nags Head vacation home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Nags Head. Book your Nags Head rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Nags Head:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. The Mermaid Lounge: Sound View & Pool Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
