Getting the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Family Beach House \/ Hot Tub-New Heated Pool 2024 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head beach you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
