Getting the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your Nags Head rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Live like a local in the heart of Nags Head! No cleaning fee\/2:00 pm check-in! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
