Our top Nags Head rental home tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Nags Head area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. K1144 Sunkissed. Oceanfront, 8BR, Private Pool, Elevator, Home Theater, Pet Friendly! has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
