Nags Head vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Nags Head area. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Cozy + Quiet S Nags Head Home- Short walk to beach, gorgeous ocean + sound views has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
