How to get the best Nags Head rental experience:
When to book a Nags Head rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Breathtaking Sound and Sunset Views near Jockey's Ridge at Jackson's Place! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
