About this Property

  • Apartment

This is a comfortable space in a family owned home! Very roomy with tons of natural light. Great neighborhood, plenty of parking, painless access to shopping, eateries and tourist attractions. The space is completely private with a private entrance, Florida room, tons of deck space, kitchenette and much more! Ideal for couples!
The space
The home itself is our family's vacation home. The unit is on the ground floor so simple access with no stairs! I live 2 miles away and am down rather frequently but always give guests their privacy.
Guest access
I would like to reiterate that this unit is on a canal and there is no fence, just a bulkhead. It is not suitable for modest kids to be in the back so therefore we have it listed as "not kid friendly" for that reason!
Other things to note
I appreciate my four legged friends but this property is "pet complimentary". This is due to the quality of the rugs on the floors..... accidents do happen!!

Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Blue Marlin Hideaway has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
