  • Approximately 1400 square feet

Seahorse Cottage is a semi-oceanfront, classic, old style South Nags Head beach bungalow located less than 30 yards over the dune line on a private access road. Savor a 2-min. walk to the beach and ocean vistas from the front porch, dining room and living areas. Three Bedrooms and 1.5 baths upstairs with a separate detached one-bedroom unit with full kitchen downstairs. THIS LISTING IS THE ENTIRE HOME - upstairs three bedrooms, 1.5 baths and downstairs one bedroom, one bath - both with full kitchens and living areas.

The neighborhood is classic old Outer Banks, and the front door is literally just steps from the beach. There are no mini-mansions or hotel size homes here. Appreciate relative tranquility and peaceful year-round. Spend your time calming with nature and friends and family. No need to go anywhere once you arrive. However, eateries, shopping, and activities are in abundance, just a few mins.' drive away. Get the best of both worlds with Cape Hatteras National Seashore immediately to the south (think lighthouses and secluded beaches) and outlet shopping, mini-golf, adventure park, fishing piers, great local seafood and eateries just a few miles north.

Parking is limited and is allowed in the driveway on property ONLY. Parking on the street is NOT allowed. We allow 3 cars max. at any given time. DO NOT PARK IN THE ACCESS ROAD OR IN FRONT OF OTHER HOUSES.

We do have a camera on the home that is motion-activated and has a spotlight to monitor parking. The only area that can be seen with the camera is the parking area.

Enjoy complete privacy, but we are available most anytime with just a text or a phone call for recommendations or assistance. Outer Banks residents for over 30 years, we live a few short miles away but will often be there to greet and check you in. Or, check yourself in at any time with a coded key lockbox. Feel complimentary to call or text us anytime for assistance or recommendations!

We provide the first roll of toilet paper and paper towels. Additional paper product needs are guests' responsibility. We supply handsoap but personal toiletries are the guests' responsibility.

Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book your Nags Head rental home:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. ????Semi-Oceanfront in Old Nags Head with Oceanviews ??????? on Private Access Road? has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
