Strategies to get the optimal Nags Head vacation rental experience:
When to visit Nags Head & When to book:
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking the bestvacation home:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. BEACH GETAWAY! Walk to beach. Hot tub, close to shops, dogs allowed has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, email the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
