Tricks and tips for getting the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best vacation home in Nags Head:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. ? ? ? ? ?\"Extremely clean + such a great location.” ? ? ? ? ? has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
