With its fabulous setting on the Roanoke Sound and a mouth-watering menu, Tale of the Whale Restaurant is one of those places on the Outer Banks that visitors flock to year after year. This creative professional seamstress shop, new in 2012, is owned by Kelly Cassady, a young woman who earned her stripes with a degree in fashion design from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and an internship in New York City. But Cassady has also worked in the costume shop of The Lost Colony and been sewing since she was 13 years old, so she has a broad understanding of her craft.
