Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Nags Head area. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Nags Head restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking the perfect Nags Head rental home:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Oasis, Beautiful Views w\/ Private Patio, Walk-in Shower, Pools & More has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
