How to get the best Nags Head rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To book the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the best Nags Head rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sunset Views of Roanoke Sound from Beach House. has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
