Tips to get the best Nags Head vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Nags Head vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Pet Friendly in the Heart of Nags Head has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
