Hang Glider is located on the ocean front lot just behind Kite Flyer (another bungalow in our program) and across from Jockey’s Ridge State Park near Kitty Hawk Kites. Due to the location of Hang Glider across from Jockey’s Ridge State Park and the absence of close by public beach access, the beach in front of Hang Glider is one of the least busy of the entire Outer Banks area north of Oregon Inlet (and less busy than much of the National Seashore).
Hang Glider's central location in Nags Head means that the necessities (and the fun stuff too) are conveniently near-by. The comfort of central air-conditioning, the convenience of a well-equipped kitchen and laundry area coupled with the peaceful location between the beach and the Park make this a calming location for a family vacation. For those more action aligned, Kitty Hawk Kites and Sports right across the street can arrange hang-gliding lessons on the dunes, wind-surfing or kayaking trips to the Alligator River, bicycle rides, rock-wall climbing, para-sailing, aero-tours; the list goes on....so relax...or play, the choice is yours and Hang Glider is the ideal location. Hang Glider is well-equipped and comfortably furnished yet remains an economically practical choice for a great vacation hideaway. Central AC, washer and dryer, and all other major appliances combined with versatile sleeping arrangements in four bedrooms means this bungalow has all the essentials covered, and the location can’t be beat!

How to find the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in Nags Head. To find the best value, try changing your family's Nags Head trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Semi-oceanfront in the heart of Nags Head with a hot tub! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
