Charcoal is NOT an luxury we provide, but many guests leave some behind as a "pay it forward" gesture, so you may find some but you are responsible for your charcoal needs. In

The unit has baseboard heat and an older window style a/c setup. - nothing fancy! It also has a dehumidifier that you may have to empty if full. We thank you in advance for your assistance with this.

Please note that the wood paneling and the age and proximity to the ocean can have a unique "bungalow" smell. We do run a dehumidifier which you may have to empty during your stay. We assume you read this note before booking. Thank you!

PLEASE BE COURTEOUS OF NOISE AND PARKING WHILE OTHER GUESTS ARE IN RESIDENCE. We do have a camera on the home that is motion activated and has a spotlight to monitor parking. The only area that can be seen with the camera is the parking area.

Booking the best vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First and foremost, have your family select dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Semi-Oceanfront Ground Level Apt???? Basic, Beachside Living?Private Access Road has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
