When to visit & When to reserve a Nags Head rental home:

Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
