Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Nags Head vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. Booking your Nags Head vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the best rental home in Nags Head:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Runnin' Down A Dream: 2min Walk to Beach
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
