About this Property

Kite Flyer is located near Jockey’s Ridge on the oceanfront, across from the site of the fabled Casino. Due to the location of Kite Flyer across from Jockey’s Ridge State Park and the absence of close by public beach accesses, the beaches in front of Kite Flyer are among the least used of the entire resort area (and less busy than much of the National Seashore) The central location means the necessities (and the fun stuff too) are conveniently located near-by.
The comfort of central air-conditioning, the convenience of a well-equipped kitchen, laundry area and the peaceful location between the beach and the Park make this a calming location for a family vacation. For those more action aligned, Kitty Hawk Kites and Sports right across the street can arrange hang-gliding lessons on the dunes or wind-surfing or kayaking trips to the Alligator River, bicycle rides, rock-wall climbing, para-sailing, and aero-tours. The list goes on....so relax...or play, the choice is yours and Kite Flyer is the ideal location.

Tricks and tips to get the very best Nags Head rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront on a budget in the heart of Nags Head! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
