Previous Listing Name: Cottage By The Sea South Nags Head, NC

Cottage By The Sea was previously owned and managed by the gorgeous Mrs. Jackie D. If you know...you know. We are proud to have met and learned all of Mrs. Jackie's in's and out's and we would be honored for her guests to continue to stay with us!

Cottage by the Sea is an 800 square foot semi-ocean front beach bungalow, with outstanding ocean vistas.
It is located in South Nags Head, in a peaceful, family-aligned bungalow court. No businesses are allowed on the South Old Oregon Inlet Road, except the pier. The enchanting sound of waves breaking on the beach is the background noise. A screened porch and sun-deck is on the oceanside for appreciating the sea and sun.

Cottage By The Sea sits on the dune-line at the seashore. Inside are juniper walls, central heat and air, and wireless internet. There are three bedrooms; the Captain's Room has a queen bed and half-bath; the 'Shell' bedroom has a queen bed and kid's bed; and the "Lighthouse" room has one queen bed. In the hallway is a full bath with a shower/tub along with a high efficiency washer and dryer. The living room has comfortable seating, cable tv with sports channels. The kitchen is well-equipped with dishes, cookware, and appliances. Underneath the bungalow is room for parking and an outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. The bungalow is elevated on the dune-line, with 10 steps up. Near the steps is a park-style BBQ grille.

In the neighborhood court grounds, you are seconds from the sandy ocean-front beach. Within the court is also a kids's playground, and swimming pool, which guests are welcome to use in season. A paved bicycle path leads from the bungalow court to Jeanette's Pier.

There is a community pool that is only accessed by owners and there guests within the court. No lifeguard on duty. Supervision is recommended. Swim at your own risk. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day!

No event groups please; this is a family-aligned setting.

The property has stairs, which requires you to use, in order to access the bungalow. Please note, there is sand underneath the home as well as sand on walking paths, streets, deck and patio.

The bungalow has fresh linens and towels. I highly recommend you bring your own additional towels, blankets, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, cooking supplies, etc if you are particular. We have "starters" we do not supply everything.

Finding the best rental home experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Book your Nags Head rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
